Terms of Service — Humanity

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") govern your access to and use of the Humanity website, applications, and services (collectively, the "Service"). By creating an account, accessing, or using the Service, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

1. Description of Service

Humanity is a community-curated feed for uplifting stories. The Service allows users to view curated posts, react to content (via likes, hearts, and wow reactions), leave comments, share posts to their profile, and manage their user profile.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years of age to use the Service. If you are between 13 and 18, you may use the Service only with the consent and supervision of a parent or legal guardian who agrees to be bound by these Terms on your behalf. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements.

3. Account Registration and Security

To access the Service, you must create an account by providing a valid email address, a username, and a password. You agree to:

  • Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration.
  • Maintain the security and confidentiality of your account credentials.
  • Promptly notify us if you suspect any unauthorized use of your account.
  • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account.

You must not share your password with any third party, use another user's account without permission, or create an account using a false identity. We may suspend or terminate your account if we have reasonable grounds to believe these rules have been violated.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes and in a manner consistent with its intended design. You must not:

  • Attempt to access accounts, data, systems, or networks you are not authorized to access.
  • Interfere with, disrupt, or place undue burden on the Service (e.g., via automated scraping or denial-of-service attacks).
  • Use bots or automated scripts to create accounts, submit content, manipulate reactions, or spam comments.
  • Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or extract source code from the Service.
  • Circumvent, disable, or interfere with security features or rate limits (including comment cooldowns).
  • Impersonate another person, organization, or entity, or misrepresent your affiliation with any person or entity.
  • Collect or harvest information about other users without their consent.
  • Transmit spam, malware, or any other harmful code or content.

5. Community Guidelines & User Content

Humanity exists to celebrate good news, good work, and the people behind them. We ask that all interaction with the Service honors that spirit:

  • Be honest. Do not post false, misleading, or fabricated content.
  • Be kind. Harassment, hate speech, and personal attacks are not permitted in comments or posts.
  • Be constructive. Disagreement is welcome — disrespect is not.
  • Be lawful. Do not post content or upload images that infringe copyright, trademark, or other rights.
  • Be considerate. Do not post graphic, violent, sexual, or otherwise harmful content.

You retain ownership of any content (text, images) you submit to the Service. By submitting content, you grant Humanity a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to host, store, display, and distribute your content solely for the purpose of operating the Service.

We reserve the right to remove any content that violates these Terms, that we believe is harmful, or that we are required to remove by law. We do not pre-screen all content but reserve the right to do so.

6. Termination

We may suspend, restrict, or terminate your access to the Service at any time, with or without notice, if we believe you have violated these Terms, if we are required to do so by law, or if we discontinue the Service. You may also delete your account at any time.

7. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Humanity and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or relating to your use of the Service.

8. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without regard to its conflict of law rules. Any dispute arising out of or relating to these Terms or the Service shall be brought exclusively in the courts of the Philippines.
